We are excited to announce that we have been working on an amazing collaboration with local Omaha photographer and adventurer Brett Brooner! We've been in cahoots on a shirt for his #ExploreToCreate movement for about a month and a half in order to make everything perfect for you all!
If you aren't following Brett's Instagram account(@thevisualscollective or @brettbrooner) then what are you doing with your life?! The photos are captivating, beautiful, and you feel like you're really at all of these breathtaking places with all of these wonderful photographers who submit their work from all over the world! He started it as a way to discover new, unknown, and unique artists and give them a space to showcase their work where people from around the world would get to see it. It has turned into something much bigger than he'd imagined.
We were curious to know what made him want to continue with TVC Instagram page, and why he chose to coin the #ExploreToCreate to spread his movement. As a very open and honest individual it was pretty easy getting to know him and to hear about how it started from the very beginning, and grown into the greatness that it is today. Initially, in 2012, he got into photography and videography work to make skateboarding videos. He began using Instagram as a way to share that with others. After a year of just skate videos he branched into photography because of his love for editing and filters.
As you can now tell from his thousands of followers and photos on Insta, his #ExploreToCreate movement is a big deal. In simplest terms it's inspired by the beauty of the Pacific North West. It's pushed forward by the love and power of friendships that Brett makes with these people from around the country, and even a few from around the world. Last but not least, broken down into even simpler terms, it's about the love of art and daily inspiration.
Speaking of inspiration, we'd like to give you some insight into ours. This design we came up with was based off of a few things. Brett had told us about this 19 year old who he knows because of his networking on Instagram. His name is George Cibu, and he is a graphic designer from Transylvania, Romania (his Insta is @george_cibu if you'd like to check him out. I highly recommend that you do!) This extremely talented 19 year old also did Brett's logo and as you can tell from this direct quote, he has quite the admiration for the kid: "19 and killin it. Like....Damn...Okay." Brett's inspiration was not only pulled from George, but also because of his love of adventure! Breanna and myself have a bit of an adventurous side as well, but really our love of design and attention to detail is where we came into play.
We hope you enjoy this shirt. We could not be more proud of the turn out. You can pre-order it now until October 25nd. After pre-orders are in you can expect a wait of about 2 weeks until you receive your shirt.
